maybe that little aluminum piece is what I need to vacuum bleed the rear brakes on my dodge ram....the front brakes vacuum bleed fine but not the rears; it throws the switch off balance ;;;; but I got it back right by using the brake pedal...if I remember right...I dont do this everyday...only when I have a problem

that button is the metering valve for front calipers to hold off the front brakes until the rear drums apply; so that front and rear apply at the same time

im doing one right now,got lucky on the fit 2007 wide frame ,I just chopped the mount plate and lowered it.

Is your timing supposed to move even when the vac advance is disconnected ? Example, when I set it on 20degrees warm and idling and advance hose disconnect. Timing mark will move from 20-25 and beyond. Is this normal?

Be careful not to cross thread the fuel lines, I unfortunately wasn't paying attention and did just that. What happened in my case was I shattered the aluminum housing, so I've been running my 1988 Chevy Cheyenne Cheyenne 4.3 with a proper temp material liquid weld, which I only had to tune up once. Just throwing that out there because, it's very difficult to source that particular part.

Two improvements that can be made [easily] to that Chevette's brakes: The '80-up rear drums, and the '83-up front calipers. You'll need the corresponding steering knuckles/spindles to mount the front calipers, but once you have, you open the door to the front-brake aftermarket made available for the '84-'87 Fiero... which has models of brakes that a 'tuner would drool over!😉

Oh, they do handle well... well enough to be entered into Group-4 rally, and win! Why? 51/49 weight balance--better than a front-engined Porsche!😉
